Delete in Aether
Open Profile & Identity → Safety & account → Delete account and data, type DELETE, and confirm. Protected and age-unassured identities first enter a 24-hour safety cooling-off period and must confirm again after it ends. A non-public safety protection may pause deletion; the app does not erase local data unless the server confirms that the account was deleted.
Request deletion without the app
Email us from an address you can access. Include your Aether handle and, if connected, your public wallet address. We may ask for an in-app confirmation or a non-transaction wallet signature to prevent someone else deleting your account.
Never send us a seed phrase, private key, backup recovery code, password, or authentication code.
What is deleted
- Your relay account, handle, display name, aliases, profile photo and device sessions.
- Your server-side Space posts, comments, likes, follows, Live rooms, invitations and ordinary owned stored media.
- Your queued encrypted messages and encrypted cloud backup.
The account is deleted before ordinary storage cleanup begins. A failed storage removal is kept in a restricted cleanup queue and retried; it does not restore account access.
What may remain
Messages already delivered to a participant or required guardian device cannot be remotely erased. Transaction, purchase, cash-out, provider-verification decision, keyed identity-reuse marker, guardian-review, relationship evidence, fraud, abuse-report, enforcement, child-safety, tax, or legal records may be retained only where necessary to preserve safety and accountability or where legally required. Report and linked guardian-relationship evidence are excluded from ordinary account cleanup and remain governed by their restricted case-retention lifecycle. Reports retain subject identifiers and snapshots after account deletion so an accused or reporting account cannot erase the case. Verified email requests are normally completed within 30 days.
See the Privacy Policy for full retention details.
